As we’ve discussed throughout this month, we need to evaluate our leadership styles and consider changing them to align with our evolving world. Technology and artificial intelligence continue to have ramifications on our work and personal lives. We’re expected to dedicate much of our energy and thought to work, while where we work has become increasingly remote. Diversity in our workforce has increased like never before, and we constantly have more choices available to us.
Does your leadership style model the culture you want to see? Are you authentic and vulnerable with your people? People are inherently good and will often do the “right thing” when trusted—how do you empower and trust your staff? Are they inspired by our field?
You can refer back to the articles in this series whenever you feel like you need to revamp your leadership style or reinspire your team—Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4—but I think Mr. Covey sums it up nicely: “Leadership is communicating people’s worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.”
