April Jasper, OD, FAAO: I appreciate all that you do, Dori. I love just being able to do this and be able to help people with positive words instead of others. As we close, give us some words of wisdom. What would you like to share with people? What should we tell them to be doing right now as far as prevention? And do you have any resources you would direct people to that you know of that would help them?
Dori Carlson, OD, MAL, FAAO: I think the biggest thing right now that I would say is if you're in a place where it's really stressful, and I am at this moment in time just because we had some things happen with our staff that were related to health. I lost a staff member that I'd had for 29 years after a 6-week battle with cancer. I just think: this too shall pass. There are moments where it seems like it's all consuming. And if age has taught me one thing, it's that this is a marathon, not a sprint. And it's okay. This too shall pass. And so I think that's probably my best piece of advice is just remember that life is a marathon. This isn't a sprint. It doesn't have to all get done today. Maybe this week will be crazy, but it will be okay.
AJ: This has been awesome. Thank you everyone for listening. Again, Dr. Dori Carlson, you can read her columns. It's the leadership column in Optometric Management magazine. You don't have to necessarily keep them on the bookshelf, right, Dori?
DC: Right.
AJ: Because we have a digital version. But most of what she's talked about today and what you've heard from both of us, you can go back and look in the archives and find those articles and find resources. Dori, I appreciate you so much. It's good to be with you.
DC: Thanks. Fun to visit with you. Thanks, April.
