Both organizations are working toward accessible eye care that “doesn’t depend on geography or economics.”
Eyecare Republic (ECR) announced a new partnership with Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) aimed at advancing efforts to eliminate preventable blindness and vision impairment worldwide, according to a press release. Under the agreement, ECR will provide in-kind promotional support for OGS through its media platforms, including Optometry 411, the ECR Newsletter, social media channels, and the organization’s website. The initiative is expected to broaden awareness of OGS’s mission and strengthen engagement among independent eyecare practitioners (ECPs), according to a press release.
ECR is an independent national optometric alliance that supports independent ECPs. Membership is free, and the organization says it offers resources based on needs to help practices grow while giving them choice in vendor partnerships.
With Optometry Giving Sight’s history of funding sustainable projects to improve vision care access in underserved regions, leaders in both organizations say their partnership is a natural fit based on aligned core values.
