Myopia Profile has announced the expansion of its AI-powered assistant, Ask Kate, to parents and caregivers through its consumer education platform, MyKidsVision.org. The launch coincides with Myopia Awareness Week (May 18 to 24), during which the company will provide open access to the tool across both its professional and consumer platforms.
Ask Kate was initially introduced for eyecare professionals on MyopiaProfile.com and has now been adapted for family use to provide evidence-based information on childhood myopia in accessible language, the company said in a press release. According to the announcement, Ask Kate is trained exclusively on Myopia Profile’s peer-reviewed and clinically validated educational content on Myopia Profile and My Kids Vision. The consumer-facing version is intended to help parents better understand childhood myopia, ask questions in plain language, and learn about treatment options. Users can ask questions related to childhood myopia, treatment options, eye growth, lifestyle factors, and related topics. Responses are tailored differently for professional and family audiences.
The company said additional information about ongoing access will be forthcoming.OM
