ModMed announced in a press release that it will be releasing 3 new features to its Scribe 2.0 clinical AI assistant, which will include intelligent note reconciliation, expanded device compatibility, and streamlined documentation.
With intelligent note reconciliation, new AI-assisted Smart Merge functionality will identify existing note content and suggest how to manage any duplicates—resolving content conflicts and saving time while preserving clinical accuracy. Also, expanded device compatibility will allow ModMed Scribe to work on the Apple iPhone, in addition to its original Apple iPad deployment. Providers will be able to record and transcribe directly from an iPhone and reconcile seamlessly in either the iPad version or web version of ModMed EHR. ModMed said it plans to make Scribe available on Android devices in the second half of 2026.
In addition, Scribe 2.0 also features more streamlined documentation for fewer clicks and faster completion—AI-captured body locations and laterality are now automatically included as part of the visit note suggestion, reducing manual clicks in documentation, the company said.
According to ModMed, ModMed Scribe 2.0 is built natively within the ModMed EHR, which allows ModMed Scribe to turn natural exam-room dialogue into structured data, actionable clinical orders, and suggested billing codes—linking diagnoses to treatments and automating the next steps for prescriptions, labs, and patient education.
In other company news, ModMed said it will soon launch ScribeMaster, a fun, immersive simulator that lets clinicians explore the power of AI scribe technology in a risk-free environment. Using real-time voice conversations, providers can practice with simulated AI patient interactions across dermatology, orthopedics, and other specialties. A detailed analytics dashboard allows clinicians to track their progress and identify areas to improve their interactions with AI. While ScribeMaster uses the same ModMed Scribe AI engine, ScribeMaster is not a commercial product and is not intended for clinical use. ScribeMaster will be available at no cost to both ModMed EHR customers and the general public, the company said in the press release. OM
